Market Research Strategist · Trader · Online Business Builder

I’ve spent 15 years in financial markets and 10 years building profitable online businesses from scratch. I created Market Investigation to give startup founders the research tools and frameworks I wish I’d had — so you can validate demand before you build, not after you’ve burned your runway.

Background

Experience that comes from actually doing it

“I don’t write about market research from a textbook. I write about it from making real bets with real money — and having to be right.”

For the past 15 years, I have been actively trading and investing in stocks, options, and cryptocurrencies — not as a hobby, but as a serious financial discipline. That means living with the consequences of bad market intelligence, feeling the cost of assumptions that weren’t tested, and developing a deep respect for the difference between what you think the market wants and what it actually pays for.

Alongside my trading career, I have spent more than a decade building and operating three profitable online businesses: a content and affiliate marketing operation, an eBay selling business, and this platform — Market Investigation. Each business was built the same way: by researching the market first, understanding the customer before building the offer, and making decisions based on evidence rather than optimism.

I also write about risk management in trading on Medium, where I apply the same rigorous thinking I bring to market research — because whether you’re launching a startup or placing a trade, the core discipline is identical: know what you don’t know, test your assumptions, and manage your downside.

Why trust this content

Real experience. Real stakes. Real results.

Every article on Market Investigation is written from lived experience — not scraped from textbooks or assembled from secondary sources alone. Here’s what that means in practice:

  • All market research frameworks have been tested in real business contexts — affiliate marketing, eCommerce, and content businesses — not just described theoretically.
  • Investment and trading content is drawn from 15 years of active participation across equities, options, and crypto markets — including navigating major market events.
  • Every AI-powered tool on this site was built and tested personally — I understand exactly what they can and cannot do, which shapes how I write about using AI in research.
  • Risk management thinking is applied to every recommendation — advice on this site accounts for the cost of being wrong, not just the upside of being right.
  • External sources cited in articles are peer-reviewed research, primary data, or established industry reports — not other blog posts.
Important disclaimer: All content on Market Investigation is for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing on this site constitutes financial advice. Trading and investing carry significant risk — always conduct your own research or consult a licensed professional before making financial decisions.

I write about risk management in trading on Medium — applying the same evidence-first discipline to financial decision-making that I bring to startup market research.
